Valentine's Day: 5 alternatives to the red rose

I’d be lying if I said a rose isn’t the most enduring symbol of love. But just like the love letter that’s now being sent via text message, who’s to say that the rose is still up holding its legacy. With Valentines Day around the corner, we’ve gathered some flower alternatives that knock the cliché red rose out the water.
1. Peonies
Symbolises: Romance and romantic love, with a particular focus on love between two strangers and beauty in all forms.
2. Daisies
Symbolises: True love – because each daisy flower is really two flowers blended together in harmony.
3. Tulips
Symbolises: Perfect, enduring love between partners or family members. As well as undying passionate love, whether the passion is spurned or returned.
4. Calla Lilies
Symbolises: Magnificent and overwhelming beauty, while also the overcoming of challenges.
5. Orchids
Symbolizes: Love, beauty, thoughtfulness and charm.
Whether your sweetheart has a brown thumb or loves to get their hands in the soil, you can’t go wrong with flowers. Truth is, after women… flowers are the most divine creations.
